Hello and welcome to the ACPS Literacy at Home support page!

Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, all public schools in Virginia will be implementing the Virginia Literacy Act in grades 6-8 which includes the new Virginia Language and Literacy Screening System assessment (VALLSS). The purpose of VALLSS is to identify students’ literacy strengths and areas for growth. This Canvas page is specifically designed to support families and caregivers with understanding this new assessment and supporting their student on their literacy journey.
